Hey Reader, Today marks 2 months since the 40 Days of Prayer event ended. It was such a wonderful time of fellowship of people all over the world! If you didn't attend, I encourage you to consider joining in on the Zoom calls and replays next September-October. I know it will be a blessing to you as it was to me. And don't worry, you can remain silent on the call. Only those who volunteer to lead in prayer are called upon. Anyway, that 40 Days was such an impactful time for me in my walk with the Lord and in fellowship with other believers in corporate prayer, so I wanted to share 5 wonderful things I learned from that time that I know will encourage you! π 1. Youβre not aloneHave you ever felt discouraged in your prayer life, wondering if anyone is burdened with the same concerns that you are? Have you ever wondered if you're the only one out there praying over certain people or specific cares? The 40 Days of Prayer opened my eyes to see how many of God's children are crying out to Him daily with the same requests and pleas that I am! What an encouragement that is! People are praying for the lost, for abortion to end, for Israel to see Jesus as their Messiah, for the peace of Jerusalem, for our nation to repent and turn to righteousness in government, culture, and society. What a wonderful thing it was to hear such prayers lifted and know that we are not alone in our prayers! We are one body united of one accord in the Holy Spirit! 2. The prayers of the saints are sweetI heard so many different types of prayers ascended during that time of 40 Days, and all of them were such a sweetness to my ears and my heartβhow much more are they a sweet aroma of offering to the Lord God! The hearts of so many believers were poured out in earnest prayers, crying out to the Lord from a place of such tenderness for their fellow men and women. It was an honor to witness and to agree with them in prayer, and it was such an encouragement to know that so many dear saints are lifting sweet prayers to the Lord daily, seeking His will and His ways above all. 3. Pray the PsalmsThese dear believers who offered prayers to the Lord did so in many waysβmany in their own words, a couple in the form of singing, but there were also many who drew from the Psalms, praying passages of scripture. What a wonderful thing to know that we can read scripture and pray passages just as David did, or even find other passages in scriptures that show how God moves in certain ways at certain timesβwe can see how He moved His hand to protect some who acted in righteous ways, and how His hand moved to bring justice against evil. These passages are good models of prayer for us, and the Psalms in particular is a treasure trove of prayers to offer to the Lord. 4. Prayer and Bible study go hand in handAlong with the Psalms, people would sometimes pray citing other passages from the books of the prophets. Learning of Who God is and His character from scripture helps us know how to pray. As I mentioned above, we can see how He moved in certain situations and apply that to our prayers. Many times in scripture, we see God work for His name's sakeβto move at His chosen time in order to defend His wonderful name, to deliver and provide for His people, and to not let evil prevail. It is good to pray in accordance with those things, and we cannot do that without knowing His Word. Proper prayer that aligns with God's will can only come from proper study of scripture. You really cannot have one without the other. 5. Prayer from a submissive heart is powerfulSo many times during that 40 Days of Prayer did we see our prayers answered by the Lord! When prayers are lifted sincerely in accordance with God's Word, He moves. What a wonderful thing to hear so many praying from a humble heart and with great reverence. God is so merciful and good, and He works everything together in His time. I hope these 5 takeaways from the 40 Days of Prayer are an encouragement to you! When God's people wholeheartedly cry out to Him, in repentance and submission to His ways, and humbly asking for His help, HE HEARS. Thank you, thank you, Lord, for who You are.
For your goodness, your mercy, and
Your long-suffering patience with us.
β
Thank you for drawing us near to You,
For seeking the lost, caring for the hurting,
For your grace, and for your love.
β
Thank you for your kind and tender heart
That stoops to hear our lowly prayers.
β
Thank you, Father, that we can trust You,
That even when it's hard,
We know that You are at work.
β
Thank you that your ways are higher than ours
Because of your awesome holiness.
Help us to trust You more even though the veil is not yet lifted.
Please give us greater glimpses of your glory!
β
Lord, please don't grow weary with us,
But uphold righteousness and justice, for your Name's sake.
In Jesus' precious name we pray, amen.
Remember as you go through the week to make all your needs and your thanks and praises known to the One who knows you best and loves you most. Have a wonderful week, and as always, choose to live by grace! π Liv

I equip women for Christian living by helping them discern the truth through studying God's Word and inspiring them to share the gospel. I also offer free resources, share creation photo essays, and love to laugh along the way! π
Hey Reader, Once a month I send an email with Christian memes to brighten your day and provide some lighthearted laughs. That was supposed to be the email I was going to send today. But after what I saw yesterday, that plan changed. Yesterday was the sentencing for the man who killed the four University of Idaho students back in 2022. The perpetrator had initially stood silent to the charges, forcing the judge to enter a not guilty plea on his behalf. But just as he was about to head to trial...
Hey Reader, Have you ever looked up at the moon and been struck by its beauty? That's what happened to me the other night. The moon was so full and bright, so I picked up a small pair of binoculars I keep near the back door for just such occasions. Wow! The moon was incredible! How could God create something so wonderfully beautiful, that serves multiple purposes, and on top of that allow us the technology to admire its beauty from so far awayβastounding! I wished there was some way I could...
Hey Reader, Did you know that Jesus is making Himself known to Jewish people today? Praise God, He is opening the eyes of His chosen people Israel to the good news that Jesus is their Messiah! I received a newsletter the other day from Jews For Jesus, and there was an article titled, "Jesus Appears to Atheist Man Three Times." That caught my attention immediately. Many Christians around the world are praying faithfully for Israel to receive her Messiah, and what wonderful fruit God is...
